In the name of Allah, the Beneficent the Merciful
The Message of Islam
The message of Islam is that of unity, security, and fraternity. There is an immortal saying which is ascribed to The Prince of the Believers (A.S.) and it includes all the mankind; it is that the human being is "either a brother to you in religion or a like to you in creation". He/ she is anyway a human being, so all the people must unite and endear to each other.
This is not limited to one group rather than another; therefore, Islam orders its followers to be good with even those who do not adopt their religion: ﴾Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity﴿ (Al-Mumtahana: 8)
This is the logic of Islam i.e. as regards the one who does not agree ideologically with you and who has another belief, it is not here the position to account him on his creed, and he is none of your business: "Since the Judgment is to Allah, and the date is the Day of Judgment", one of the sayings of The Prince of the Believers (A.S.). This is so because you are in front of a human being: either one having the same belief you have, then he is a brother to you in religion; or one not having the same belief you have, then he is a like to you in creation.
Still, this fraternity and unity has one exception only; it is the dutifulness of severely confronting the one who breaks this correct approach ﴾…severe against disbelievers…﴿ (Al-Fateh: 29) This severity is special to this context.
His Eminence Imam Al-Khamianei
(May God keep him)
One of the Still Going Almsgiving
Imam Al-Khomeini (May his secret be sacred) called to the unity among the Muslims, starting from the two birth dates which are famous among the Muslims i.e. Rabea the First 12th and 17th, so he declared the week which is extending between them to be The Week of the Islamic Unity.
In one of his speeches, His Eminence Imam Al-Khamenei (May god keep him considers that one of the still going alms of The Islamic Revolution and which was accomplished with the blessing of the genius of the deceased Imam (May his secret be sacred) is the specification of the days of the birth of The Noblest Prophet (peace be upon him and his household) with the Islamic unity. Some people have been living this hope with all their existence; on the other hand, there are some who takes it as a motto merely without being serious as regards accomplishing it.
When we consider the practical methodologies and means which are used in the accomplishment of this hope, we find that the character of The Noblest Prophet, which is considered to be the best and greatest personality in Islam- this unique personality, is the basic pivot around which the emotions and creeds of all the Muslims rotate.
Rarely does one find an Islamic term or fact on which all the Muslims agree and which is capable of attracting them and their emotions as is the case with the character of The Prophet Mohammad … All the Muslims are attached to The Prophet (peace be upon him and his household) with strong emotions and love bonds.
On this basis, this blessed presence and this great character of The Concluding Prophet (peace be upon him and his household) can be the pivot of this unity which we are attempting at accomplishing. This is so because the Islamic unity is an urgent and sure necessity due to the fact that the enemies of Islam today are characterized with two traits which they have not had before.
The first trait is that they own today the greatest possible amount from the elements of power, such as: money, policy, and media. In addition, they own all the means and methodologies of dominance and power and attack and taking aback.
The second trait is that this front line which is opposing to Islam is extremely sensitive to the Islamic danger which is threatening it more than it has ever done. This sensitivity originates from that it believes that Islam has turned from being a group of moral recommendations and has become an ideological trend which has its own system.
The Redolence of the Guardianship
Amid the atmosphere of the long torture from which the Shiite had been suffering, Imam Al-Sadik (A.S.) emerged in the form of the true dawn which the followers of the prophet's family had been waiting for on their previous days.
Rouh Allah's Call
In Islam, there is neither a Sunnite or a Shiite nor an Arabic [person] or a Persian [person]: All are brothers.
A Story and a Lesson
A Fatal Blow
The Martyr Ali Safeeydin reached the location of the target. He stopped his car to the side of the road which leads to the inside of the town without turning its engine over. He looked in all the directions… Perhaps he wanted by that to be reassured that there was nobody from the civilians.
He remained sitting behind the driving wheel, waiting for the arrival of his enemy. In those moments, all the events of his life passed in his mind. He recollected the memories of the childhood, how the attackers demolished them, the pictures of the massacres which they committed against the innocent people, and the ruin they had left behind them.
A few minutes only had passed when the tanks of the enemy started approaching, so he waited for the patrol to get nearer… He drove the car slowly towards the Zionist procession; they, because of being arrogant, did not know that hell was in attendance to them.
Ali's car was from one side, and a motorized troop for the Zionists was from the other side; then, the two sides clashed in a few seconds like Ali's whole lifetime. He put his finger on the button of the remote control of the mine; and then a smile appeared on his mouth as if he, with his high sensitive feeling, felt the rustle of the angels waving their wings around him while racing to pick the first drop which would fall from his blood, for he was going to be a martyr…
His martyrizing operation was a fatal blow which he hit at the extorting enemy, so it robbed the sleep of the enemy, worried its night and day, made it afraid thus expecting a like to Ali at the corner of every road, at the entrance of every village, behind every hill, …
The Commander's Jurisprudence
Umm ul-Banin , “the mother of all martyrs”
Umm ul-Banin, God blesses her, had four sons from the Commander of the Faithful (A.S..). Those heroes were martyred while supporting their brother Imam Al-Hussein (A.S.) at Karbalaa on the tenth day the so-called Ashura.
The eldest and who was considered best among them was: "Al-Abbas" (A.S.), nicknamed "Abu Al-Fadel". He was the last among them to be killed; they fought with and before him and were all killed.
Abbas (A.S.) had children, unlike his three brothers. He was very handsome, what made him be also nicknamed "Qamar Bani Hashim" the Arabic meaning for “Moon of the Hashemites; the prettiest man among the Hashemite men”... He was brave and tall, the banner of Imam Al-Hussein (A.S.) was with him when he martyred. He was also nicknamed "As-Saqqa, the Provider of Water", because he was able to bring the water from the enemy to his brother Al-Hussein (A.S.) and his family but he was unfortunately killed before being able to deliver the water to them.
The heroism of the sons of Umm ul-Banin and their condolences to Imam Al-Hussein (A.S.), and the way by which they were killed, has been mentioned as follows:
When Al-Abbas (A.S.) saw lots of his family and of Hussein’s companions killed (A.S.), comparing to their little amount in count, he told his three siblings, Abdullah, Jafar and Uthman:
"My siblings, go and fight, you are same as myself, safeguard your master i.e. Imam Hussein until you martyr with him, and by doing so you will convey the message of guidance, faith and honorable life for God and for his Prophet".
Therefore, Abdullah who was twenty-five years old fought and was killed after strong fighting.
Then afterwards, Jafar bin Ali (A.S.) who was nine years old fought as heroes until he was killed.
Then Osman bin Ali (A.S.) who was twenty-one years old fought strongly until he was killed.
Imam Al-Hussein (A.S.) was typically carrying them from the battlefield into the tent on that day. However, he (A.S.) did not carry the body of Al-Abbas (A.S.) but kept him rather still at the place where he was killed.
When their mother -Umm ul-Banin- heard at the city of Medina that they were martyred she cried them bitterly, but yet she has cried on Al-Hussein (A.S.) much more, quoted from a famous story.
This honorable attitude of Umm ul-Banin (may Allah bless her) indicates that she has highly acknowledged Imam Hussein (A.S.)...
Peace be upon you, O who are such a pride for all the mothers of martyrs, O the one who has really well supported Imam Hussein (A.S.).
