Loving and Intimating the Prophet's Family

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Loving and Intimating the Prophet's Family

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and peace be upon the messenger of Allah who is the leader of the creatures and the Seal of the Prophets Mohammad and upon his clean household.

The messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his household) has a great right toward his followers, and no doubt that loving him is one of the primary rights, because of this, Prophet Mohammad said: "No one is considered a believer if doesn't like me more than any other person even himself , his father , his sons and all the people".

Hence loving him means loving God, and loving him needs love from all the people and from the most close ones to him, and the most specialized ones who can trust in preserving the probity and performing the mission; because of this Prophet Mohammad said: "Love me as you love God, and love my prophet's family as you love me".

His family and companions are the ones who had chosen them when God ordered him to curse the Christians, as He said: then say: Come let us call our sons and your sons and our women and your women and our near people, then let us be earnest in prayer…﴿, and he revealed a lot of verses regarding them.

Moreover, love shouldn't be separated from the honest of allegiance, from the good guidance, and to take after the right guidance that they were on, "if you love God, take after me, then God will love you", hence as love was a primary introduction for taking after, hence taking after is a very important condition and a definite conformation for the honesty in love.

From here, loving the prophet's family and being passionately attached to them is an introduction to take after them and follow their manners.

Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him and his household) stated a lot of traditions and testaments which order the Islamic nation to love the prophet and his family and to be partisans for his house progeny (peace be upon them) such as:

Loving them is an indication for believing in them, and detesting them is an indication for hypocrisy… Besides, the one who loves them loves God and his prophet; and vice versa in which the one who detest them, detests God and his prophet.

Imam Al-Sadek (A.S.) said about Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him and his household): "The one, who loves us, should praise God for the first graces, then one asked him: What are the first graces? He replied: the goodness of his birth, in which the one who loves us was good in his life".

Besides, Abi Jaafer Al-Baker (A.S.) related to Prophet Mohammad his saying: "Loving me and loving my family benefit you in seven points in which their frightens are great: while dying, in the grave, at the day of resurrection, at the moment when your works will be mentioned in public, when you will be called to account, when the measure of the good deeds will be known, and when the path of the person is determined".

Imam Al-Baker (A.S.) adds relating to Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him and his household): "If a person worshipped God for thousand years, then he was slaughtered as the ram is slaughtered, and he hates the prophet's family, then God will not accept any worship from him".

The messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his household) said: "O people, keep on loving the my family because in the day of resurrection, the one who meets God and he loves us, we will intercede for him and let him be in the heaven, and I swear by God, that nothing benefits the person unless he knows our rights and love us".

And it was mentioned about Prophet Mohammad in the book: "Al-Tafseer Al-Kabeer" for Al-Talaby that he had said: "The person who dies and he loves Prophet Mohammad, he is considered a martyr, and the person who dies and he loves the Prophet's family, all his sins will be forgiven. And Azrael who is the Biblical Archangel of Death will announce him that he will be in the heaven, and after Azrael, Munkar and Nakir. thus, who dies and he loves us will be carried to the heaven as the bride is carried to her husband's house… On the other side, the one who dies and he hates the prophet's family, God will not be merciful with him and will be punished".

May God grant us success to love and obey them, support them, to take after them, to be like them and He is the one who Hear and know every thing".

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
