No Father's Permission

Q: In which case there is no need for the permission of a girl’s father in order to marry her?
A: To marry a virgin girl, the permission of her father/paternal grandfather is required by obligatory caution. Unless she is in need for marriage, the fiancé is her equivalent as per shar‘ and common view, and there is no other competent man who asks for her hand in marriage to whom the father expresses his consent.
