Imam Al-Sajjad (A.S.) Struggle

Imam Al-Sajjad (A.S.) Struggle

Occasion: Imam Zein Al-Abideen (A.S.) Martyrdom

We offer our condolence to the Master of This Time Imam Al-Mahdi (May God hasten his honorable revelation), the Muslims’ Authority during the absence of Imam Al-Mahdi Imam Al-Khaminaei (May God keep him), all the Muslims, and the resistants for the martyrdom of Imam Ali ibn Al-Houssein Zein Al-Abideen (A.S.) on the twenty-fifth of Sacred Muharram.

During the period of his arrest, Imam Zein Al-Abbedin (A.S.) who was surnamed by Imam Khameini (May God keep him): "He was the tongue talking for the drops of blood shed on Ashouraa", had started the journey of his leadership after the martyrdom of his father Al-Imam Al-Hussein (A.S.) and hence drawing a great heroic epic by means of his words and deeds.

The nation in which Imam Zein Al-Abideen (God’s peace bestowed upon him) was living had lost a great part of its religion and a great deal of its humanity as well. This thing prompted him to the epistemic and spiritual establishment so that its path will be corrected.

a- After that, Imam started publishing the sciences and the information of the original creed of Islam. So he worked hard to renew the real Quranic learnings in the nation through calling not just to read the blessed verses of the Quran, but to think deeply in its meanings. Imam used to say concerning this: "The Quran verses are the lockers of knowledge, and whenever you read one, you should look deeply for what it contains from information".

Moreover, Imam worked hard to preserve the blessed Prophetic Traditions, especially during that era which was prevented to be written down Prophet Mohammad's traditions. In the Prophet's Mosque, Imam continued his achievements to make the "Letter of Dues" which was an aim for publishing the blessed prophetic traditions and Prophet's Mohammad family sciences.

Also, he (God’s peace bestowed upon him) wanted to restore the human relationships to their original nature and to their following of God’s rules, an aim resulting in “The Letter of Dues”.

b- Imam wanted to reestablish man’s relationship with his Most High God, thus manifesting this aim in “The Sajjadian Book”.

Imam Al-Khaminaei (May God lengthen his presence among us) said, “The most important role played by Imam Al-Sajjad (God’s peace bestowed upon him) lies in that he (God’s peace bestowed upon him) wrote down the original creed of Islam as regards monotheism, prophecy, the reality of the spiritual essence of man, and man’s relationship with God. From here emerges the most distinguished role of “The Sajjadian Book”. Consider this book, and then have a look, from the Islamic creed approach, at the circumstances of people during that time; consequently, you will realize the duration of the period separating those circumstances and the writing of “The Sajjadian Book”. At a time when the Muslims all around the Islamic world were turning towards the materialistic life and pleasures, Imam Al-Sajjad (God’s peace bestowed upon him) stood firm and addressed people saying, ‘Is not there any free man willing to turn away from this life…’ In this sentence, Imam Al-Sajjad (God’s peace bestowed upon him) elucidates the original Islamic creed: Its aim is to turn towards achieving the Islamic spiritual objectives and to bind man, through being charged with his responsibilities, with The Most High God. This attitude was completely contrary to the people’s movement at that time".

Eventually, all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
