The Family's System with respect to Islam

In the Name of Allah, the beneficent, the Merciful

The Family's System with respect to Islam

Occasion: The Launching of the Family's Campaign

The family formalizes the core of the society, in which it nurtures the individual under the protection of what it offers him from love, patronage, and escorting him practically during all his life's stages. Besides, it overshadows him psychologically with tranquility and calmness in order for him to be steadfast, and to draw an aim to his live, and to form armor for him which protects him from too many Devil's darts and the world's stratagems…

From this point, making a family was the most likable thing with respect to God the Almighty, and it was related to the Messenger of Allah his saying: "Nothing could be built more likable with respect to God other than marriage".

Ruling Conditions upon the Familial Relation

Several topics can help in achieving the general conditions which the couple can launch to face through it the life with each others, and these conditions are the ones which rule upon all the couple's behaviors between each other, and some of these topics can be summarized as follows:

1- Cordiality:

The Most High God says: and He put between you love and compassion﴿. The cordiality is love which it is translated and appears through the behaviors; and the story that was related to the Messenger of the Allah is a good example about this: "The man who aliments his wife will be rewarded﴿.

2- Mercy:

Mercy is the second thing that the previous mentioned verse had implied to, in which after cordiality comes mercy. Hence, God made a relation between cordiality and love between the couple, not just that but he joined it with mercy. And it was mentioned about the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his household): "obey God while behaving with the two weaken creatures: the orphan and the woman, because if you behaved well with them, as if you behaved well with their prophets".

Besides, mercy appears clearly in the wife's behaviors, it was mentioned in the prophetic tradition: "Any woman, who gives her husband to drink, will be doing a very great thing and better from fasting the whole year and praying all its nights".

3- Treating them kindly

If the cordiality and the mercy had intensified the couple's heart, hence for sure it's effects will appear during the relation and the daily life, as mentioned in the verse: ﴾and treat them kindly﴿; hence the person who love and has mercy upon others can't hurt any one and do not injure them in order that you may straiten them﴿.

Imam Al-Sadik (A.S.) narrates: "On day, a man came toward the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his household) and said: When I go home, my wife greets me, and I wanted to leave home, she sees off me, and if she see me worried, she asks me about the reason. If you care for your livelihood, another person will vouch for it and if your care is related to your hereafter, May God increases your worry. After that, the Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his household) said: "announce her that she will go to the heaven, and she is one of God's workers, and every day you will take the recompense of 70 martyr".

2- Mercy:

Mercy is another thing which was mentioned in the previous verse after cordiality. Hence, God wasn't satisfied just by the relation between cordiality and love among the husbands, but He coupled it by mercy. And it was related to the Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his household) his saying: "be pious about the two weak creatures: the orphan and the woman and your good, is the good for the ones who deserves it".

Similarly, mercy comes out in the wife's behaviors. It was narrated in the Hadith: "A woman who waters her husband a drop of water, will be doing better than worshipping God for a year, fasting the day and praying during the night".

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
