The Best Work in Allah's Month
Occasion: The Nearness of the Holy Month of Ramadan
It was reported that Al-imam Ali (A.S.) asked the prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him and his household) after his sermon about Ramadan month, "o messenger of God, what are the best work for this month?" He (peace be upon him and his household) said: "O-Abu Al-Hasan, the best work for this month is devoutness of what God has forbidden."
Islam Praised Devoutness and Made it the Best Worship
- It was narrated about Al-Imam Ali (A.S.), "the blink of eyes to what Allah has forbidden is the best worship."
- About Imam Zein Al-Abedin, "who avoids what Allah has forbidden, he is the most worshiper."
- And about the prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him and his household), "leaving a sacred bite is lovable to God from praying a thousand prostrate voluntarily."
The Impact of Devoutness
The infallible people (A.S.) talked about the effects of devoutness and the status of devout people according to Allah. Thus, devoutness in the presence of Allah is:
a- His work is accepted: about the prophet (peace be upon him and his household), "two prostrate from a devout man is better than a thousand prostrate from a mixed one."
b- From the people of paradise without an account: it was narrated that the prophet (peace be upon him and his household), Allah said, "O Moses, every human am going to meet during resurrection day, I will look for what he has inside his hands except who was one of the devout people, I feel shy of him, meet him well, ennoble him and enter him paradise without an account."
c- Who sits by Allah: in the narration, "Who sits by Allah tomorrow is devout and an asceticism one in the world."
The Impact of Leaving Devoutness
Because of the adverse effects that the inviolable work had, devoutness and avidness of inviolable work have a status and effects, so inviolable:
a- Frustrates work: about the prophet (peace be upon him and his household), "in the day of resurrection there will come people with alms as Tahama's mountains, they are ordered to enter hell. It was said: o messenger of Allah, where they prayers? He said, "They had to pray, fast and worship during the night, but if anything in the world comes to them they leap on." Also it was reported that the prophet (peace be upon him and his household) talked to his companion saying, "Who says glory to God (sobhan Allah) God plants him a tree in paradise." Then a man from Qoraysh stood up and said: "So our trees in heaven are many." The prophet replied, "Yes, but beware of sending fire that burns it."
b- Prevent acceptance: the prophet (peace be upon him and his household) said: "if you pray to become as pegs, and you fast to become as ribs, God won't accept from you unless you have devoutness." Also it was narrated about the prophet Moses that once he passed by prostrated man (one of his companions) and he returned back to find him still prostrating; then he said (A.S.), "if your need was in my hand, I would fulfill it for you." God revealed to him (A.S.), "O Moses, if he prostrates until his neck is cut off, I will not accept him or he turns into what I like."
God received us in his month a renowned guests on his tender thanks table, so we should be nice in this accommodation by achieving the best work in this month, and God makes us and you from his devout people.
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
