Imam Khomeini in the Leader's Speech

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Imam Khomeini in the Leader's Speech

Occasion: The Anniversary of Imam Khomeini's Departure

We console Imam Mahdi (May God hasten his appearance) and his representative Sayyid Ali Khamenei and all the strugglers who are working by Imam's procedure and manner, and the Islamic nation and all the oppressed ones for the anniversary of the departure of Ruhollah Mousawi Khomeini (May his secret be sacred).

Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him and his household) said: "The one who legislates a good law, will be gaining the recompense for it and for the one who work by it until the day of resurrection".

Imam Khomeini was the one who set up the Islamic revolution in Iran, and after he toppled the Shahenshah idol regime which was ruling the people and the countries for many bitter years, he established the Islamic country, and by this he was aiming to prepare the country of Imam Mahdi (May God hasten his appearance). Besides, every thing which the Islamic Republic and the Iranian people reached to, such as welfare and progress and rights are to the blessing of this great man, and it is a product of his intellect and his staying up at night and work; and it is so natural now, for that work not to bear all its fruits, and what is coming has more blesses and is more fruitful. All that wasn't to be if Imam Khomeini didn't prepare a very good preparation from all the levels; and Sayyid Ali Khamenei (May God keep him) states: "This movement which Imam had done in the world and this deluge which he had formed in this environment was available just for a firm person who has a strong will, and a fixed intention and a genius and intelligence, and a courageous person who is influential and sagacious. If Imam Khomeini wasn't so in relation with God, and having all these features, he weren't able to do what he had done".

- The Departed Imam's Personality

Sayyid Ali Khamenei (May God keep him) describes the personality of Imam Khomeini (May his secret be sacred) by saying: "Neither in this era nor in the previous eras unless the prophets and the saints (peace be upon him and his household) we can find a person who's personality is similar to that of our great and dear leader and our honorable and jurist Imam Khomeini's one who was one of the most famous personalities in this world, and there is no one similar to him from those who are famous in this contemporary world, hence he is a person in which different characteristics are found in his personality and we can't find a one like him having all these positive characteristics… In Imam's personality, you can find a group of psychological and sublime characteristics which weren't gathered from many centuries in a one person, in which he used to gather the belief's power to the power of the virtuous work, and the powerful will to the great determination, and the moral and spiritual clarity to the intelligence and the courtesy, and the God-fearingness and the piety to the rapidity and firmness, and the solemnity and the dignity of the leadership to the fineness and the sympathy and the mercy, and all these characteristics can rarely be found at the same time".

- Imam Khomeini's God-fearingness

Sayyid Ali Khamenei (peace be upon him and his household) says: "Imam Khomeini used to control on his psychological desires and not the fancies and tendencies control him, and at the same time, he was so modest, and patient and tolerant, and nothing shaken him even the great misfortunes and disasters… He used to overcome over the disasters, and even when he was in an old age, he wasn't fed up with work but he continued working hard.

- His Relation with God

Sayyid Ali Khamenei says: "I believe that if our great Imam whom we can't find a person similar to him between the people in this era, and who has a rank directly after the Imams and the saints of God, wasn't from the persons who supplicates and asks God forgiveness and rightness while crying and supplicating and invocating to God and entreaty then it wouldn't have been for him to gain the success which is granted from God, and this success which this unique Imam had accomplished was subjected greatly to his relation with God in which he used to supplicate and implore God so much".

Sayyid Ali adds saying: "If our goals were the same as the goals of our Imam, and our way is the same as his way, then our means should be the same as the Imam's means, in which his mean was requesting the support from God; hence let us request the support from God, and this couldn't be just by speaking but it should be by sincerity and by avoiding the sins and by strengthening our relation with God, and this should be our main principle in life".

Eventually, all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
