We should realize the aspects of this martyrdom, to know its depth and influence
over the world, and to notice that its influence is still witnessed today as
well.
When the Master of Martyrs (peace be upon him) saw that an oppressive and unjust
ruler governed people, he proclaimed and said that whoever sees an unjust ruler
governing people and oppressing them, then it is obligatory to stand up to him
and to prohibit him as much as possible. A few members were nothing to be
mentioned in front of that army, but it was a responsibility and a duty. It was
obligatory for him to rise and to offer his blood in order to reform this Ummah
and to destroy the flag of Yazid. This is what he truly did. He offered his
blood, the blood of his children, and everything he owned for Islam.
Muharram is the month in which Islam was revived by the Master of the warriors
and of the oppressed (peace be upon him).
Hussein (peace be upon him) was thinking about the future of Islam and Muslims-
in view of the fact that Islam will spread between people as a result of his
sacrifices and his sacred struggle.
The Master of Martyrs (peace be upon him) specified our duty, so don’t fear
shortage in numbers nor being martyred in the field of war.
Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) is [the one who] protected Islam and kept it
alive until it reached us who are gathered here.
The Master of Martyrs (peace be upon him) taught everyone what they must do in
the face of oppression and unjust governments.
The Master of Martyrs (peace be upon him) was also killed, but was he defeated?
NO.
If it were not for the uprising of the Master of Martyrs (peace be upon him), we
would not have been able to achieve victory in our revolution.
Everything we have is from Muharram and Ashoura.
