Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei dismissed the US claims that it has allowed production and display of the recent anti-Islam film due to its respect for the freedom of expression.

"The West can exonerate itself of such mad crimes only through action," His Eminence said.

Addressing army cadets in Iran's Northern port city of Noshahr on Monday, Imam Khamenei pointed to the Muslim nations' protest in front of the US and western embassies in reaction to the sacrilegious movie recently produced by an American-"Israeli" man.

"Nations have pointed their finger at the US and certain European states because they know the anti-Islam policies of the arrogance and Zionists," he stated.

Imam Khamenei further highlighted that "leaders of these states should prove in practice that they have no complicity in these big crimes and criminal acts by preventing such crazy actions."

"The he western leaders claim that they have nothing to do with this incident, but they don't condemn this crime," he mentioned.

The Leader said nations blame the US and some of the European states for these crimes because of the behavior of the western politicians.

"They should exonerate themselves from this big crime in practice and not in words."

The remarks by Supreme Leader came after US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tried to clean Washington of involvement in the sacrilegious move.

"Let me state very clearly, and I hope it is obvious, that the United States government had absolutely nothing to do with this video," Clinton said at a press conference in Washington.

The anti-Islam film has drawn condemnation from numerous countries including Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Iran, Yemen, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, Morocco, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, etc.
