Blessings of Alms

Shades the believer in the Day of Judgment when the whole of the earth is fire, the believer makes it his sunshade in the Day of Judgment, quells the heat of the grave, slakes the anger of the Lord, falls in the hands of Allah Most High, He augments it till it becomes like a high mountain.

Effects of Alms

Fend off calamities, ward off fate after having been concluded finally, cure disease, the best of medicines, fend of fire, drowning and ruin, (till the Prophet peace and blessings of Allah counted seventy categories of evil), prevent a bad death, prolong life and increase benefaction, fend off poverty, increase the means of sustenance, pay debt on one’s behalf, leave blessings behind, of the categories of alms: removal of harmful things from the road, forbidding of the objectionable, answering the greeting, protection of dignity, reconciliation of people with one another, good words, strides towards prayers, raising the voice to let the deaf hear, smiling in the face of friends, enjoining goodness, guidance of people in the road, emptying one’s pail to fill that of his friend, refraining from evil, the word which spares blood and brings about benefit.
