The Sources of Happiness

Faith, the obedience of Allah Most High, meting the punishment of Allah Most High, performance of obligatory and optional rituals of worship without which nobody can be happy, keeping company with the scholars, abiding by righteousness, holding oneself accountable, preservation of: praise of Allah when He bestows his grace upon us, asking His forgiveness when the means of sustenance is belated and frequently saying “no power and no strength except by the help of Allah” when distress occurs, fear of punishment and hope of reward, chest eviction of envy, success given by Allah for good deeds, asking Allah to show the way to behave, being content with what Allah destined, the religious beautiful woman, the child who takes after his father, the wife who agrees with her husband in the daily affairs, the son who is kind to his father, trade and work in the homeland, keeping company with the virtuous, regular worship, sincerity in deeds, charity deeds, satisfaction, keeping company with the honorable, renunciation of life pleasures, abandonment of this world.
