The Life of this World

It is called life because it is the least thing one would hope for, it is very mean, people are the offspring of this world, the child instinctively loves his mother, life is a bless for those who do good while fearing Allah, this world is created for us and we are created for the Hereafter (you are examined in this world and created for another world), everything in this world which is more than we need is hoarded for others, little in this life is better than too much, all of the ancient people and the modern people will wish in the Day of Judgment that they have not been given of this world except their immediate needs, this world is like a dead animal not permissible for anybody to eat from except what he is compelled to eat in order to keep soul and body together, this world goes contrary to those who are in quest of it and agree with those who are contrary to it, it was inspired to “tire those who serve it and serve those who reject it”, when you run after the pleasures of this world they run away from you and when you run away for them they follow you, this world is for those who reject it and the Hereafter is for those who demand it, this world is like your shadow: if you stop it stops and if you demand it then far away it runs, life is like a dream, it has been divorced by the prudent, life is the origin of every sin and essence of every vile.
