What is the Grave
The first abode in the Hereafter, the one who survives it then the rest will be
easier for him, the one who does not survive it will suffer more hardships, the
grave is the first place where the haves are equal to the have-nots, it is the
place of alienation, solitude and dust, the believer who is introduced to the
grave is received with “welcome”.
Questions Asked in the Grave
About the name of the Lord Most High, the name of the Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allah be upon Him), the religion, the Book, the ruler whose subject
one used to be, life and the deeds in which he did therein: money from where did
he gain it and how did he spend it, prayers, obligatory alms, Hajj, fasting,
loyalty to the family of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon Him).
Deeds that Benefit in the Grave
Prayers, obligatory alms, charity, patience, two prostrations in prayers, the
one who completes the prostration will never feel alienation in the grave, the
one who helps a believer in distress, good deeds (one’s family and money go back
after one reaches his grave), continuous alms, beneficial knowledge, the good
son, the reward for one who planted a date palm, dug a well, constructed a
river, built a mosque, inherited knowledge or wrote a Quranic book.
