Applying the Obliged Canons
In the Jihadi context, two elements must be determined:
1. The most powerful tactic that could attain victory.
2. Knowing the Islamic canons so that to keep the respect for Allah’s bounds: the obligatory act (the Wajib), the highly recommended act (the Mustahab), the forbidden act (the Muharam), or the extremely undesirable Act (the Makruh) since Islam has not only determined the aims but also the procedure, which has to be in accordance to the Islamic laws, too. This is what exactly Imam Ali Bin Abi Talib states:“Mou’away is not smarter than me but he eluded me.”
Thus, respecting Allah’s bounds is a must under any situation; otherwise, anyone transgressing any of these bounds will be considered as a wrongdoer, [practicing oppression against his own self]. On the other hand, showing respect to these bounds and being adhered to them will definitely lead to the victory- as Almighty Allah promises in Sūrat al-Rūm, verse 47: {and it was a must for Us to help the faithful.}
