Ignorant Nicknames

O, Dear sister…

Don’t allow and accept that people call you with silly and ignorant nicknames as: Moni, Roro, Sou Sou, FiFi, Mimo, and Zizi.

Don’t accept to become known, among people in your community, with such names, since you would lose their respect and be certain that you are not a child anymore.

Sadly, even the religious names, dear sister, have been replaced by such ignorant nicknames, as:
The gracious name “Fatima” became Fati,
And the gracious name “Zeinab” became Zaza,
And the gracious name “Khadija” became Dada,
And the gracious name “Sumaya” became Semsem,
And the gracious name “Mariam” became Roro.

By following such acts, we are encouraging the unbelievers’ rites, which are islamically forbidden.

And It is God Al-Mighty who said: ﴾And say to my servants that they speak that which is best; surely the shaitan sows dissensions among them; surely the shaitan is an open enemy to man﴿. The Israelites-53

And He also said: ﴾And when they hear idle talk they turn aside from it and say: We shall have our deeds and you shall have your deeds; peace be on you, we don’t desire the ignorant﴿. The Narrative-55
